2022年にメキシコで設立されたUCIコンチネンタルチーム。2023年にUCIコンチネンタル登録を果たし、翌2024年にはイタリアの名門「Androni Giocatolli（アンドローニ・ジョカットリ）」との提携によって一気に国際舞台へと躍り出た。スポーツディレクターには元Androni Giocattoli のマルコ・ベリーニを迎え、メキシコ・コロンビア・エクアドル・イタリア・ウクライナなど多国籍の選手を擁する本格的な国際チームへと成長を遂げた。2024年にはジョナサン・カイセドがVuelta al Táchira総合優勝など複数のタイトルを獲得、エドガー・カデナもメキシコ全国選手権ロードレースを制覇。2025年もカデナがオーバーエスターライヒ・ルントファート総合優勝を飾るなど、ヨーロッパでの存在感を着実に高めている。チームの躍進を後押しするのは、いまメキシコで巻き起こっているロードレースブーム。その中心にいるのが「エル・トリート（小さな雄牛）」の愛称を持つイサク・デル・トロ（UAE Team Emirates XRG）。2023年にツール・ド・ラヴニールをメキシコ人として初めて制覇し、2025年はジロ・デ・イタリアで21歳ながら総合2位・マリア・ローザ着用・新人賞を獲得。デル・トロ旋風はメキシコ全土に自転車競技への関心を呼び起こし、新たなメキシコ・サイクリング・ユニオンが発足、4年ぶりの全国選手権も復活開催されたPetrolikeはそのような上り潮のメキシコサイクリング界を代表するチームとして、将来的なプロチーム昇格を目指している。ツアー・オブ・ジャパン初参戦となる今大会、各ステージで積極的なレースを見せる。

Founded in Mexico in 2022 and registered as a UCI Continental team in 2023, Petrolike rose rapidly on the international stage through a partnership with the renowned Italian outfit Androni Giocatolli in 2024. Under Sports Director Marco Bellini, a veteran of the Androni setup, the team has grown into a truly international squad featuring riders from Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Italy, and Ukraine. In 2024, Ecuadorian climber Jonathan Caicedo delivered multiple victories including the overall title at the Vuelta al Táchira, while Edgar Cadena claimed the Mexican national road race championship. The team continued its momentum in 2025, with Cadena taking the overall at the Oberösterreich Rundfahrt, further cementing Petrolike's growing presence in Europe. Driving the team's rise is a road cycling boom sweeping across Mexico, fuelled by the extraordinary success of Isaac del Toro (UAE Team Emirates XRG), nicknamed "El Torito" — The Little Bull. Del Toro became the first Mexican to win the Tour de l'Avenir in 2023, and in 2025 finished second overall at the Giro d'Italia at just 21 years of age, spending time in the maglia rosa and claiming the young rider's classification. His meteoric rise has captivated fans across the country, inspiring the formation of a new Mexico Cycling Union and the revival of the national championships after a four-year absence. As one of the leading teams of this new era in Mexican cycling, Petrolike has its sights firmly set on reaching ProTeam status. Making their Tour of Japan debut, the team will look to race aggressively across every stage.
